Girls' season comes to end

Carl Junction's 2009 girls' golf season came to a close with the Missouri state tournament, where the Bulldogs' Adyson Conley finished with a round of 105.

Weather conditions brought a premature end to the scheduled two-day event, with only one round being officially completed.  Conley's score was good for 60th place among the 123 girls completing in Missouri Class 1.

Haelena Schwemmer of Barat Academy was the individual state champion after posting a 78.  Team champions were from Savannah High School.

Conley, Ferson named All-District

Carl Junction's Adyson Conley qualified for the Missouri Class 1 girls' golf state tournament after shooting a 106 in district competition at Marshfield.  Conley's round was good enough for 11th place.  The Bulldogs finished the district tournament in fourth place, shooting a 445 to district champion Mt. Vernon's 377.

Maddie Ferson missed qualifying for state by a single stroke.  For their performances, both Ferson and Conley were named to the All-District Team.

Conley will compete October 19 and 20 at Sedalia Country Club in the Class 1 state tournament.
