After
moving to Carl Junction
from the St. Louis area
prior to his sophomore
season, Jake settled in as
a solid three-sport
performer for the
Bulldogs. Destined
to earn the prestigious
"Iron Dog" award
(given to players
receiving at least 7
varsity letters), Jake earned his third
basketball letter at CJHS
including two years as a
starter. He also
lettered as a freshman for
Holt H.S.'s basketball
team.
As
a senior, Jake received
the team's "Offensive
MVP" award. He
was also named to the
All-District Team as well
as the All-Big 8
Conference Second Team.
Jake
led Carl Junction in
scoring as a junior,
earning the team's
"Offensive MVP"
award. As a senior,
he averaged over 13
points per game and nailed 53 3-pointers.
During
his junior year, Jake
scored his career-high of
32 points in the season
finale against
Harrisonville. As a
senior, he reached
double-figure scoring in
20 of the Bulldogs' 26
games, including a high of
24, and had 12 games of 15
points or more. He
added about 4 rebounds, 2
assists and 1 steal per
game.
Jake
was named to the All-Big
8, All-District and
All-Area teams in 2008-09
after averaging 15.2 ppg
as a junior.
