As
the 2009-10 season came to a close, so
did the
basketball career of
Matthaus and his five
senior classmates who are
competing as Bulldogs (all
pictured above).
Matthaus himself
played for CJHS the
past four years, serving
his coaches and teammates
as the consummate role
player.
He provided
valuable minutes and
much-needed depth to this
year’s team, always
bringing energy to the
game when he took the
floor and doing whatever
was asked of him.
His
coaches and teammates
recognized Matthaus by
presenting him with the
"Mr.
Hustle" award at the
end of his senior season.
Matthaus
worked hard in
practice to improve his
game, as was evidenced by
the contributions he made to the team this
season.
His efforts made those around him
better as well.
He
scored his career high of
9 points while adding 5
rebounds, 4 assists and 3
steals on "Senior
Night".
And
what about all of the
attention given to his
senior teammates whom all
have first names starting
with the letter “J”?
No worries… Jacob,
Jake,
Jansen,
Josh
and John
Matthaus Klute have given
all of us much to cheer
for during their Carl
Junction basketball
careers, whether they
chose to be called by
their first names or
middle names.
