A
two-year starter, Jansen earned his third
basketball letter at CJHS
this season. Jansen
was among team leaders in
numerous categories,
averaging over 13 points,
7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists
and 1.5 steals per game.
As
a senior, he was named
"Team MVP" and
received the "Bulldog
Award". He also
received First Team honors
for All-Big 8 and
All-District. Other
honors included the St.
John's Sportscare Scholar
Athlete Award, the KODE-TV
Scholar Athlete Award, and
Carl Junction Booster Club
Athletic Scholarship.
He
received the team's
"Defensive MVP"
award as a junior, and was
also named "Offensive

and "MVP" for
the CJ Freshmen team in
2006-07.
Jansen
scored 16 or more
points 11 times this
season and recorded
five double-doubles in
points and rebounds.
Among his top games this
season were a 29-point,
13-rebound performance
against Aurora and a
20-point, 13-rebound,
5-assist performance
against Seneca.
In
fact, Jansen's game
against Aurora on 2/12 was
the 100th of his high
school career and his 29
points allowed him to
surpass the 1,000 point
mark (1,015), including
all varsity, JV and
freshmen games (credit to
Dad for tracking the stats
the past four years!).
